DAILY LIFE IN ANGLO SAXON ENGLAND
This course will provide an introduction to different aspects of daily life in Anglo-Saxon England. Discoveries from our many years of excavating in Sedgeford will be framed in the wider Anglo-Saxon world, with topics such as houses, farming, food, settlement types, faith and superstition covered. The day will mostly consist of lectures and discussion sessions, with some opportunity to examine Anglo-Saxon small finds.
The course will take place from 8:30am to 5pm. Lunch will be provided.
If you would like to to do this course, but also attend the rest of the week either as a volunteer for excavation or to put what you have learnt into practice with our post ex teams, please email bookings@sharp.org.uk for our discounted rates on the course. We can also offer day rates for camping and meals for those who wish to stay on site either side of the course.
Please note: persons aged 15 are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian accompanying. Ages 16 and 17 may attend unaccompanied with parental or guardian permission.
We aim to be accessible to everyone, so if you do have access requirements, please get in touch so we can discuss what we can do to help.
