MALTING AND BREWING
This course will provide both a theoretical and practical introduction to the malting and brewing. The day will consist of lectures on the processes involved, the history of both malting and brewing, and the ingredients used in historic brewing. There will be a tour of the Anglo-Saxon malting complex and also a chance to do some practical malting and brewing, followed by a tasting session of historical recipes.
The course will take place from 9am to 5pm. Lunch will be provided.
If you would like to to do this course, but also attend the rest of the week either as a volunteer for excavation or to put what you have learnt into practice with our post ex teams, please email bookings@sharp.org.uk for our discounted rates on the course. We can also offer day rates for camping and meals for those who wish to stay on site either side of the course.
