Financial Incident Report

We have now released a report providing more details about the theft from SHARP, the investigation, and the new preventative systems and policies now in place.

We wanted to wait until we had all the information from the sentencing before releasing the full report.

The aim of the document is to hopefully draw a line under the incident and allow SHARP to move forward. It is also to show that the new SHARP committee have taken an honest look at how this occurred and have described what measures we now have in place. We hope this will reassure the membership that the necessary improvements have been made. In this process we have created and updated many of our policies, which are now fully transparent and available to download on our website here.

We also hope that the lessons learnt and shared in this document will perhaps help other charities, so that no one else suffers like SHARP has.

Finally, we hope this document will answer people’s questions about what has occurred. If you have any further questions, you can send us a message via bookings@sharp.org.uk to be answered by the secretary/treasurer or brought to committee for further attention. Alternatively, questions can be raised at our AGM in the summer.
