On this day...1st July

1st July

1996….In the beginning….

a small team of intrepid archaeologists begin to peel back the layers of Boneyard.

Jump forward to 2007 and an evaluation of Chalk Pit North begins. Little did we know then what a varied and complex amount of archaeology this part of the field was going to offer.

Ten years on, 2017, and Trench 23 is being uncovered for another season. Plenty of weeding to be done before the trowels even come out.
