SHARP Update and 2024 AGM
Our 2024 excavation season has now come to end so we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended, visited, or participated this year. We had an excellent four weeks with plenty of exciting archaeology and fun had on site. If you missed it, you can see exactly what we got up to on our Director's Diary on our Facebook page.
The minutes from the 2024 AGM are now available online, on our website's Charity Governance page, just choose the 2024 tab in the AGM section.
We promised that we would keep members up to date on the ongoing criminal case. On Thursday 15th August, Pamela Bent pleaded guilty to all charges at Norwich Crown Court. As reported in the media, the amount stolen from SHARP's account between 2019 and 2023 was over £112,000. During the same period Pamela paid some money back into SHARP's accounts, but we are still owed roughly £61,000. We don’t intend to answer questions or comment on the case until after the sentencing as we do not want to impact any decisions to be made. After this date we will release a full statement and be producing a report for the membership that will explain what happened and the new measures now in place.
If you attended SHARP as a volunteer this season you should have been sent a link to a feedback questionnaire.
